Tina from Travels and Trifles posted this weeks challenge – “Here in the U.S. we are in the heart of summer, which for many of us means it’s time to take a break and relax. Children are out of school and many families are in the midst of their hard-earned vacations, or at least a relaxing stay-cation. So let’s follow their lead and respond to this week’s challenge by showing how we and/or others “Take A Break”.”
Never be in a hurry; do everything quietly and in a calm spirit . . . Saint Francis de Sales
One of my happy places is the garden. I love to have my hands in the soil, the sun on my back and the solitude, just me and the birds and the surprises
Hellebore – Winter Rose

It’s winter here in New Zealand and the warmest place is home, with family and friends.
Home nestled in the bush away from the hustle and bustle of the world.
The Man of the House is never more at peace than when he’s on the water in the Ruru. His ideal break is staying in a bach on the harbour’s edge and fishing at sunrise.

Familiarity fosters peace. It’s wonderful to go to new places and see new things but I feel most rested in the places I know, in my backyard.

What a lovely response Wendy – I so agree with you about the fun and excitement of travel

Thank you Tina, it is a gorgeous spot and you know, we sometimes need visitors to remind us of what we have. That’s when we sit on the deck and just enjoy.

I love your photo of Wairaka. Last time I was in Whakatane I took several shots and hated them all.
Totally agree with your sentiments in this post btw.

Thanks Su. I’m really pleased with it. It always surprises & delights me when I fluke a good one like that.
I’m very much a home girl. We’re going to Canada soon. I’m likely to get homesick.
