Meet the residents – whitehead, pōpokatea

21 years of pest control have led to an increase of small birds in the garden, among them the little white head. At this time of the year they hang out in gangs and sweep through the garden picking up spiders and insects as they go, chattering all the way.

  1. I only found out about whiteheads recently when reading about the mohua. Didn’t realise there was enough to have “gangs” sweeping through the garden.. that’s great!
