These photos of different coloured ixia are for Liz at Exploring Colour who was captivated by a bright pink variety in her neighbourhood. My pink one is almost finished flowering but the others are just coming into their own.

These different colours of ixia are amazing Wendy. Have just been showing Nigel your photos. Wow! They’re all lovely – I’m very taken by that powder blue colour! What conditions are best for them to thrive?

They’re pretty easy Liz. I’m a stick em in and let them grow kind of gardener. If you’d like some for your new garden I’d be happy to post you some bulbs.

Wow! I’ll keep that offer in mind Wendy! I’ve just put a deposit on a property this morning. Not the one I posted about, that’s history. I’ve found a basic cottage in Tapanui on 1012m. There’s plenty of scope for garden plans. A bit further down the track ixia bulbs would be wonderful!

[…] Wendy from the North Island (NZ) who identified my bright pink flowers as Ixia posted three photos of her own Ixia plants in flower, each with a different colour. Well worth taking a look.. one of her examples has BLUE flowers! At: Ixia In Many Colours […]
